Sod Care Information
Watering:
Water the new grass twice a day (early morning & late afternoon) for 1 hour in the morning and 30 minutes at night per zone for two weeks (taking into consideration natural rainfall).
When establishing any grass, it is important to irrigate more frequently than usual until a viable root system is established.
- Bermuda grass watering requirements for establishment: water twice per day with ¼” of water until the sod is held fast to the soil by roots (usually two to three weeks).
Mowing:
Proper mowing height and frequency are the best methods of controlling weeds in newly established lawns. Begin mowing as soon as the grass reaches 30% greater than the desired height. (Always mow grass at recommended height. Mowing grass too short, or scalping, will make the grass more susceptible to other stresses such as insects, disease, or weed pressure). Higher mowing heights promote deeper, more extensive root systems that enable the grass to better withstand drought. Most importantly, always cut grass with sharp blades for best results.
- Important do not mow Bahia grass at lower heights, as this will reduce the tolerance of the grass to heat, drought, and other stresses. It will also suppress root growth.
Our Sod Warranty:
Four (4) month warranty for newly installed plant/sod Material. Warranty Excludes damage to and/or attrition of plant/sod material as a result of: Acts of God; Damage caused by other contractors or their equipment; Damage caused by property owner or their equipment; inadequate watering to establish and/or maintain newly installed plant material; inappropriate care or fertilization.
